Connecting CCH and BrightWorkpapers
1. Select the BrightWorkpapers dropdown at the top of the page and select the top option to Connect.
Note: If this shows as Connected, this means the connection between has already been established. Connecting CCH and BrightWorkpapers only needs to be done once by a user for the whole firm.
2. You will now be prompted to enter your User Key, Domain and Secret Key.
This information can be retrieved in BrightWorkpapers.
(i) - Go into Edit Profile:
(ii) Select the Integrations tab;
(iii) Your User Key, Private Key and Domain (Firm ID) will be located in the bottom right corner;
Note: If you have not revealed these details before, you will see an option to enable the connection. Press this to see the details required.
3. Enter the details into CCH and then select OK:
4. You will then see the BrightWorkpapers dropdown display as Connected;
Importing Your Trial Balance to BrightWorkpapers
Ensure you have created your file in BrightWorkpapers before progressing with the import.
1. Once the client and file have been created on BrightWorkpapers, ensure that you have added the client code to the client in BrightWorkpapers.
(i) Select the MyFiles drop-down and select Clients:
(ii) Search your client name, expand your client open then ensure the Client ID field is filled in;
2. On CCH, select the BrightWorkpapers dropdown and press "Create Client".
3. You will then be prompted that the Client name and Client code were found in BrightWorkpapers. Press Yes to connect to this client.
4. CCH will then confirm that the Client connect successfully;
5. Select the BrightWorkpapers dropdown and press Create File;
6. CCH will then confirm that a matching file has been found in BrightWorkpapers. Click yes to connect to this file.
7. CCH will then confirm that the File connected successfully;
8. Select the BrightWorkpapers dropdown and press Upload Transactions;
9. CCH will then confirm that the Trial Balance has been posted to BrightWorkpapers'
Importing a Journal from CCH to BrightWorkpapers
1. Once you have created your Advisor Journal in CCH, press Post.
2. CCH will then confirm that your Journal has been posted to your CCH Trial Balance;
3. Click Home on the task bar and reselect the BrightWorkpapers dropdown:
4. Press Upload Transactions to send you journal to BrightWorkpapers:
5. CCH will confirm the Trial Balances and Transactions have posted to BrightWorkpapers.
6. Your Journal will have posted to BrightWorkpapers.
