BrightWorkpapers is pleased to announce the following updates
New Features
Xero Cash Basis Trial Balance Import
You can now import your Xero trial balance on a cash basis, as well as the standard accruals basis. This is useful when a client's Xero ledger is maintained on a cash basis and you need your BrightWorkpapers trial balance to reflect the same figures. Simply select "Import Cash Basis" when importing from Xero to bring these figures in directly, without manual adjustment.
Working Paper Index Filter Preferences
You can now set your preferred filters on the Working Paper Index and have them remembered between sessions. This means you no longer need to re-apply your filters each time you open a file, saving time if you regularly review the same subset of workpapers.
Bright Assist Response Feedback
You can now give quick feedback on Bright Assist's AI-generated responses using a thumbs up or thumbs down. This lets you flag responses that were particularly useful or unhelpful, helping Bright Assist continue to improve for you and other users over time.
Review Points — Unassigned Filter
You can now filter Review Points by "Unassigned" on both the Dashboard and within a file. This makes it easy to identify any review points that haven't yet been assigned to someone, so nothing is missed during your review process.
Improvements & Fixes
- Shared workpaper sign-offs — Sign-off information for shared workpapers now displays correctly on the Working Paper Index of subsidiary files, matching what's shown in the parent file, so you have an accurate picture of what's been signed off across a group.
- SMSF Dashboard file types (AU) — You can now upload six additional file types to the SMSF Dashboard — .txt, .bmp, .tiff, .tif, .rtf, and .xlsm — in line with the file types supported elsewhere in BrightWorkpapers.
- Xero general ledger import — Larger general ledger imports from Xero now complete reliably, with a clearer message if an import doesn't finish successfully so you know to try again.
- SMSF notification emails (AU) — SMSF external firm notification emails now link directly to the relevant fund's queries page, rather than the general dashboard, so recipients can get straight to what needs their attention.
- Data injection into trial balance workbooks — When a trial balance field can't be matched during data injection, the resulting workbook now opens correctly in Office Online.
- Automation mapping code list — When adding codes on the automation mapping screen, BrightWorkpapers now shows the correct Accounts Production code list for your file, rather than the Bookkeeping code list.
- Export to Bright code mapping — When exporting a trial balance to Bright, Standard Reporting codes and Bright codes no longer interfere with each other, so only the codes intended for Bright are applied on export.
- Assertions field alignment — The Assertions field in programme and checklist workpapers now displays inline alongside its procedure, correcting column alignment in sections that include an Assertions field.
- Group Sharing "Select All" — The "Select All" option on the Group Sharing file selection list is available again, correctly selecting only the eligible subsidiary files in your group.
