Intro
This release brings a new way to rotate PDF pages directly in the document viewer, more reliable Xero ledger imports, and a number of display and workflow fixes across BrightWorkpapers. Everything below is live from 4 September 2026.
New Features
Rotate PDF pages directly in the viewer
You can now rotate an individual page within a PDF directly from the document viewer toolbar, without needing to leave BrightWorkpapers. This is particularly useful for scanned documents that come in with the wrong orientation. The rotation is saved permanently, so it's preserved the next time the file is opened, and any existing annotations on the page stay correctly positioned after rotating.

Improvements & Fixes
Special characters now display correctly in firm names and the firm switcher

When searching for a client to add as a subsidiary of a group, the search now only returns clients that genuinely match what you've typed, so the wrong client can no longer be selected and linked by mistake.

Clearer, more consistent PDF previews and exports
Table headings no longer overlap surrounding content when a table spans multiple pages in a PDF export, and long text now wraps correctly within its cell rather than spilling into neighbouring content. This is part of wider improvements to PDF generation quality across print preview and file exports.

References to BrightWorkpapers are now shown consistently on the Trial Balance and General Ledger import screens and in the account welcome email, completing the rollout of the recent rebrand in these areas.
